Ohio Break-in Suspect, Arrested in Macomb, Arraigned

Two men who wanted in a string of break-ins in Ohio, and arrested Thursday in Macomb County, are awaiting extradition. One of the suspects who led police on a chase has been arraigned.

One of the suspects wanted in a string robberies in Ohio, who fled to Macomb County, was arraigned Friday on car theft and fleeing from police charges.

Robert Hamman was one of two men who were wanted in Ohio for a string of home invasions and were located Thursday in Macomb County.

As officers searched for the men, a pick-up was reported stolen from Labelle Electric Company in Macomb Township. Using a GPS tracking system, parking lot video security system and traffic cameras, officers were able to locate the Dodge Ram pickup truck on westbound I-94 driven by Robert Hamman.

Macomb County Sheriff's deputies and the St. Clair Shores police stopped the vehicle near 9 Mile. Hamman, 43, of Willard, Ohio, was arrested and charged with a unlawful driving away, a five-year felony, and fleeing a police officer, fourth degree, a two-year felony.

He arraigned Friday on those charges in 41-A District Court, and was given a $10,000 bond.

The second man wanted by Ohio authorities was located by Macomb Sheriff’s Deputies walking on 21 Mile Road just east of North Ave.

Both men have criminal charges pending in Ohio, and are subject to extradition, according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office.
