Man Accused of Attempted Kidnapping Returns to Court

A pre-exam conference for a St. Clair Shores man charged with attempted kidnapping was adjourned. Also, a resident plead guilty to filing a false police report.

Attempted kidnapping

A 31-year-old convicted sex offender returned to 40th District Court in St. Clair Shores Tuesday for a pre-exam hearing for allegedly trying to kidnap a 10-year-old girl on Joy street.

Gaetano John Biondo is charged with one count of kidnapping, child enticement, for allegedly trying to kidnap a girl June 9 as she road her bike on Joy street. The  case is adjourned until July 16 to allow his attorney to receive and review police reports. 

Biondo is being held in the Macomb County Jail without bond.

False police report

A 31-year-old St. Clair Shores man plead guilty Tuesday in 40th District Court to a reduced charge of false report of a larceny for filing a false police report.

Nathan Bartley allegedly called police April 10 to report that he was the victim of an armed robbery in a parking lot on 9 Mack Drive. He told police that the men who allegedly robbed him fled from the parking lot. As officers searched the area, a dance studio was placed on lockdown. After further investigation, officers were able to determine the report was false. 

Bartley, is free on bond, and will undergo a screening before sentencing.
