Update: Macomb Circuit Court Reopens After Bomb Threat

A bomb threat led to the evacuation of the Macomb Circuit Court. It reopened at 12:35 p.m. Thursday.

The Macomb County Circuit Court Building in Mt. Clemens was evacuated Thursday after the County Clerk’s Office received three phone calls stating there was a bomb in the building, the Macomb County Sheriff's Office reports.

At 8:45 a.m., the building was closed and evacuated, and two Macomb Sheriff “bomb” dogs were called in to perform a floor-by-floor search of the building. K-9s from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office and the Michigan State Police assisted in the search.

Following a search of the building at 12:35pm., the courthouse was reopened. The Sheriff's Office is now investigating the threats.

This report was updated at 1:16 p.m. Thursday.
