Jury Hears 911 Call in Accused Eyelid Biter Case

The trial against a Clinton Township man accused of biting off his wife's eyelid began in Macomb Circuit Court.

Jurors in Macomb Circuit Court on Wednesday heard the chilling 911 call made by the wife whose eyelid bitten off allegedly during an argument with her 33-year-old Clinton Township husband.

Rahsaan Thedford, who is free on bond and appeared in court in jeans, sat nearly emotionless as the call was replayed in the courtroom of Judge Diane Druzinski.

"Can someone please come to my house," Thedford's wife was heard frantically telling the dispatcher. "He bit off my eye(lid) ... can you please come."

The argument allegedly turned violent as Thedford began assaulting his wife, punching his wife in the face, hitting her head against the hardwood floor and biting off her eyelid before fleeing her house in St. Clair Shores.

When officers arrived, they were greeted by a bloody 34-year-old woman who said Thedford fled the house.

"She looked like a victim. She had blood coming out of her face," St. Clair Shores police officer Paul Dlugokenski testified.

The officer added that Thedford's wife was adamant that officers find her husband because "she was fearful."

Thedford's wife was subpoenaed to appear in court Wednesday, but did not show up. Druzinski stated that she was going to hold her in contempt for not responding to the subpoena.

The trial is set to resume Thursday afternoon.
