Photos of Suspect in Purse Snatching of St. Clair Shores Senior Released

Grosse Pointe Woods police release photos of a suspect in the robbery of elderly woman at the CVS on Mack.

Grosse Pointe Woods police have released photos of a suspect in the purse snatching and robbery of a 93-year-old St. Clair Shores woman Nov. 26 as she put groceries in the trunk of her car.

The woman had just completed shopping at the CVS Pharmacy located at 20460 Mack Ave. when a male driving a maroon Ford pickup truck reached out of his vehicle and grabbed her purse, according to police.

As the suspect drove away, he dragged the victim to the ground, breaking her hip and injuring her elbow.

A person was later captured on two different store security cameras using the victim’s credit cards. The suspect is a male in his mid 20’s, 5-feet 8-inches to 6-feet tall, with brown hair with several days of beard growth. He was driving a maroon Ford Ranger pickup truck with an extended cab, which is believed to be the one used in the robbery, according to police. In the bed of the pickup truck was a frame for a Tonneau cover.

The victim’s credit cards were used at the CVS Pharmacy located at 26220 Crocker and the Speedway gas station at the corner of Crocker and Jefferson in Harrison Township.
