Driver Ticketed in Postal Vehicle Crash in St. Clair Shores

A 54-year-old St. Clair Shores resident who struck a U.S. Postal Service vehicle Wednesday was ticketed causing the accident.

A 54-year-old St. Clair Shores resident who disregarded a red light Wednesday and struck a truck was ticketed for allegedly .

The driver of the sports utility vehicle was driving southbound on Harper and struck postal service truck, which was traveling eastbound on 11 Mile Road.

The force of the accident caused the postal vehicle to roll over. St. Clair Shores Fire and EMS personnel extracted the driver out of the vehicle, according to St. Clair Shores Police Lt. Steve Lambert.

Both drivers were transported to St. John Hospital and were in stable condition. An update on their current condition was not available.

Lambert added that all the mail remained in the vehicle and was transferred to a second postal truck.
