Court Dates Set for Murder Suspect

A pre-trial hearing for a St. Clair Shores man charged with murder was adjourned Tuesday in Macomb Circuit Court.

A 64-year-old St. Clair Shores returned to court Tuesday for a pre-trial hearing in his murder case for the Nov. 20, 2011 fatal shooting of Dashamir Matjani on Recreation Street.

The pre-trial conference before Macomb Circuit Court Judge Mary Chrzanowski was adjourned Tuesday after an Albanian translator did not attend the proceedings.

Despite attempts by Chrzanowski to communicate with Shaholli, he did not respond. The judge told both the defense attorney and prosecutor that it is their responsibility to have an interpreter at all proceedings. She also added that Shaholli - whose hair was nearly shoulder-length and his beard extended down to his chest - may need to visit a barber.

His next court date will be on Feb. 3 for a competency hearing.
