Kmart Employee Arrested for Reportedly Embezzling Items

The following information is gathered from the St. Clair Shores Police Department. Arrests do not indicate conviction.

Vehicle windows broken

A 53-year-old resident in the 22900 block of Lake Shore reported Jan. 13 that all of the windows were broken out of her 2005 Buick Rendezvous and all four tires were flattened.

A 54-year-old resident in the 29200 block of Hughes reported Jan. 11 reported that her garage door was forced open and a snow thrower was stolen.

A 26-year-old Roseville resident is being held in the Macomb County Jail on $36,000 bond for reportedly stealing batteries Jan. 10 from the Kroger on Harper. Robert Shirey was stopped after he left the store with 11 packs of AA batteries. He was arrested on retail fraud charges, but is also wanted on warrants from St. Clair Shores, Flint, Roseville and Macomb County.

Embezzlement from Kmart

A 27-year-old Eastpointe resident was arrested Jan. 9 for reportedly embezzling from Kmart. Craig Hall, who was an employee of Kmart, was under surveillance for concealing items and taking them into the break room and placing them in his backpack. Officers found items including a video game controller, movies, ladies underwear and sleepwear. He is free on $10,000 personal bond.
