St. Clair Shores police said they are seeking a man whom they said robbed the Flagstar Bank at 9 Mile Road and Harper on Wednesday afternoon.
The man—described as 28- to 35-years-old, between 6-feet, 1-inch and 6-feet, 3-inches tall, with red hair, red goatee and mustache—was seen two different times around the bank before entering.
Investigators said the man, who was wearing a green hoodie, tan pants, white sneakers and a bandage on his left index finger, walked past the ATM about 2:09 p.m., entered the bank and left at 2:12 p.m. before returning to the bank at 2:17 p.m. and approached a teller.
Detective Margaret Eidt said the man gave the teller a note, stating that he had a “pistol.”
She replied that “she was too busy to wait on him and he had to wait his turn,” police said.
The bank manager spoke with the suspect before he fled the branch on foot. Police said the man fled in a late 1990s or early 2000s Pontiac Grand Am or Grand Prix.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call St. Clair Shores Police at 586-445-5305.
