So? What Do YOU Want to Be?

What do you want to be when you grow up? How many still don't know well into their 40's'+? I think two things have to happen in order to answer that question (even if to nobody but yourself) and that is that you have to have some level of awareness about what gets you going. What stirs your passion? What makes your soul soar? What puts laughter in your heart and a smile on your lips? And all of that begins with you being aware. I think in our 20's - 30's we are so caught-up in educating ourselves, getting jobs and raising families that we really don't even think about it. The kids getting older and moving on with their own lives seems to allow many to begin to heighten those levels of awareness. Lastly, I think you have had to actually "grow-up" to know what you want to be. And to me growing up is dealing with any past you might have that's holding you back, embracing the changes in you and living those changes out even if it causes those around you to wonder. Like someone said to me last night "You'll never know how GRAND the ocean is if you never make a wave." So stop, breathe, become more aware, grow-up and then ask yourself the question "Now that you know who you are, what do you want to be?" - The Beatles
