Senior Activities Center Recognizes ShorePointe Nursing Center

Members of the Senior Center for Active Adults recently thanked Shorepointe Premiere Management for supporting Friday lunches at the center.

While the lunches had been cut due to federal sequester cuts, local individuals and businesses have come together to provide the popular lunches.

"(The seniors and the center) have always been supportive of us, we felt it was important to do the same," said Sean Southers, marketing director for ShorePointe. "We thought it was important to support seniors in St. Clair Shores."

During the week, the center is able to provide hot meals at the center for four days. But due to the federal cuts, the Friday reduced cost lunches were discontinued.

Sue Fickau, the St. Clair Shores Senior Center coordinator, is appreciative of the support of ShorePointe and others in the community who have supported the meal program.
