Lake Shore Students Raise Funds and Donate Hair to Wigs

Students from Lake Shore Schools donated locks of hair, and money raised through various fundraisers, to Wigs 4 Kids.

Students, parents and businesses from the Lake Shore community gathered Wednesday to donate money raised during various fundraisers - and locks of hair - to St. Clair Shores-based charity Wigs 4 Kids.

Leading the effort was Trissity Kretchman, a student at Masonic Heights, who raised $800 in memory of grandmother who had cancer.

Students and parents from Rodgers Elementary School also donated $1,000 to the charity, which provides wigs and treatment to children from Michigan who have lost their hair as a result of illness. Students at Rodgers also donated enough hair for two wigs. The Rodgers Student Council also gave Kretchman $200 to make her donation to Wigs4Kids $1,000.
