Classes Teach Hunters Safety

Children and adults learned important safety techniques for hunters this weekend during the two-day Hunter Safety Program sponsored by the St. Clair Shores Police and Shorewood Kiwanis.

The St. Clair Shores Police Department and the Shorewood Kiwanis held a Michigan Department of Natural Resources Hunter Safety Program this past weekend at City Hall.

The Hunter Safety Program is mandatory for those born after Jan. 1, 1960, looking to purchase a Michigan hunting license. The program included both classroom and field training exercises that included safe hunting techniques, firearm handling and hunter ethics.

The class was held Saturday and Sunday.

Instruction is paramount your safety and the safety of your fellow shooters. Looks like a great turn out by responsible gun owner parents and their children. Good Job SCSPD, MDNR and Shorewood Kiwanis.
