Radiant ~ Relaxed ~ Happy

Reducing our stress is a question that many folks ponder. To choose and commit to a daily practice for even just 10 minutes---results in being relaxed, radiant & happy~

An overcast morning sky, a gentle breeze and a view of the Detroit River with the occasional boat passing by…what an ‘extra-ordinary’ view to begin my day while participating in a YOGA class on the riverfront in downtown Detroit near the Ren Cen. THIS WAS SO AWESOME! There were about 15 participants at this
FREE class, and the instructor was absolutely hands-down FABULOUS~  I definitely will be attending the last few weeks offered through months’ end.

This morning was a triple serving of stress-busting as I maintain my practice in surrendering to inner peace, light and joy, regularly. I began with deep healing breaths for about 10 minutes, followed by some frame drumming as I walked around my yard which overlooks the Milk River. I find it very serene and peaceful when I stand or sit under three pretty large pine trees that form a small  circle, and even my dog knows it’s sacred space.

After I finished a yummy cup of coffee I drove with a friend to the yoga class she had been taking all summer long; I had no idea where exactly this was going to be held. Now I am already planning in advance for next summer! We pulled into the free and convenient parking and to my delight this park area on the River Walk was nothing I could even imagine. It is beautiful ~

The dark clouds even held off and just danced and darted around while we were guided so eloquently, so expertly, through our Yoga practice. By now I am feeling simultaneously grounded and full of light, joy and peace. When  I arrived home and took my dog for his walk --- with the rain still holding off, I was able to
complete my morning with a walking affirmation meditation !  This intensity doesn’t happen often, and I just relish in it when I can!  It was a truly magical morning.

Developing a practice, whether it is nourishing one’s spirit, decreasing stress levels or an exercise regime,  requires discipline. By discipline I mean to follow through and be true to ourself, in taking the time – making the time, to DO what it is we must do in order for us to BE who we are meant to be:
Radiant, Relaxed and Happy~
