Avoiding managing stress?

Our basic human need is to be calm, clear, fully present in each moment. Why do we ignore this? Today you have permission to have some ME-TIME.

Neuroscientists have confirmed that meditation benefits our well-being by improving our attention, reduces stress hormones, and helps us recover faster from negative situations and information.

WHen we are exhausted, overworked and stressed we can make the choice to take the time to put into "practice" the simple meditation techniques developed thousands of years ago, to create our own quiet place filled with harmony and peace of mind.

So why is it then, that even though our basic human need to be calm, clear, aware of ourselves and others, to be kind and collaborative, to be fully present in each moment --- we overlook and ignore?

WHen we are feeling happy, and it doesn't matter where;  at work, at play, with friends or with family---all feels right in our world.  It is in these present moments where we experience joy and perhaps even a glimpse of bliss.  Yet, we continue to put off time for ourselves with one excuse after another, week after week and month after month;  saying to ourselves that "after" the project, the class or degree, the trip, the recital, THEN we will reward ourselves with time to renew and rejuvenate.  Alas, more often than we like to admit, we get sick and our life snowballs into perpetual days of chaos and catch up and stress.

Maybe it's because we have never been able to give ourselves permission;  permission to take our own time-out.  Permission and approval that it is okay to find a compfortable special place where we can just be still to experience the quiet, to catch our breath and breathe in deeply and fully --- LIFE, our life.  Maybe we hever heard the words of encouragement or approval to simply play and creatively use our imagination just because it makes our spirit soar!
