Who said the Irish-themed revelry has to wait until Monday, the official St. Patrick’s Day?

It’s the weekend – which means a couple of days off for many of us – so it’s a safe bet that folks all over southeast Michigan will be seeing green.

They don’t have to be about where to find green beer (something that almost never happens in Ireland), though libation is often associated with this annual rite of spring. Who has the best contests? Who’s friendliest to families?

BOURBONS ON SYCAMORE in Wyandotte....THE place to be downriver for St. Patrick's Day...live music from PETE 'BIG DOG' FETTERS (12noon-4pm).

If you go to the parade, or even if you don't, be sure to check out Nemo's Bar on Michigan near Trumbull. Our local band, The Balduck Mountain Ramblers, play there on both parade day and St. Patrick's Day...definitely great music to swill a brew.
