On Sunday, Feb. 5 Assumption Church will host its annual "Empty Bowls" soup luncheon. Some 17 local restaurants will donate a variety of soups for the fundraiser. All proceeds will be donated to Cass Community Social Services, a non-profit agency that helps the homeless and mentally challenged by creating opportunities. Each guest at the luncheon will receive soup, bread, a pastry and a hand-painted bowl as a keepsake. The cost is $10 per person and guests can arrive any time between 11:30 - 2:30 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by the Ambassadors, an all-men's inspirational singing group from Cass.
