Cops For Kids Help Hospitalized Infant

The president of Cops for Kids, an all-volunteer organization, recently visited a toddler who is hospitalized after an alleged case of abuse.

Little Wyatt may only be 13-months old, but he is winning over the hearts of the staff at Children's Hospital and Cops for Kids.

The little boy is recuperating at the hospital after he was allegedly abused. Monday was the his first day out of the intensive care unit for the little guy whose mother lives in St. Clair Shores.

St. Clair Shores Police Officer Kevin Kimm, who is also president of Cops for Kids, visited the boy who has earned the nickname "Wyatt the Warrior" at the hospital.

Kimm brought items for Wyatt and his mother including books and toys. He added that, "Cops for Kids isn't just for Christmas. It's helping people all year around."

Toys, books and financial donations for Cops for Kids, an all-volunteer effort by the police department, may be dropped off at the police station. For more information about Cops for Kids, or how to donate, call (586) 445-5322 or visit the organization's website

Kimm added Warren police are investigating the allegations of abuse. The mother is not a suspect.
