The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is waiving fishing license fees this weekend.
Michigan residents, and anglers from out-of-state, can take part in free fishing on both inland lakes and the Great Lakes this weekend.
All fishing regulations will still apply, the DNR reports, including the use of salmon eggs or minnows for bait in some waters. This is part of a viral hemorrhagic septicemia (VHS).
