Ways to Use St. Clair Patch on Your New Electronic Device

Did Santa leave a computer, tablet or smartphone under the tree on Christmas morning? Here are some ways to utilize Patch on these new electronic devices.

While the site is more than two years old, the new electronic device you or your family member received for Christmas is brand new. Here are some ways to get the most out of the site. 

St. Clair Shores Patch is designed to allow you, the reader, plenty of opportunities to interact and use the site. Whether it's commenting about a recent news story, posting a photo to the community gallery or adding an event to the community calendar, there are many ways to use the site. We hope the community news site is informative, useful and user-friendly. 

So here are some tips about how to use the site:

1. Comment on an Article

Sign up on Patch and comment about stories. Share your opinions, reactions and thoughts on St. Clair Shores happenings below the article. Interact with other readers and residents.

2. Post an Event

St. Clair Shores Patch offers a calendar of events in St. Clair Shores and nearby. Add your own event, whether it's a cooking class, a historical tour or musical concert, it belongs on the St. Clair Shores Patch Events Calendar. Click on the Post an Event tab at the top of the homepage or click on Add an Event when you're on the Events Page.

3. Post an Announcement

Just engaged? Had a baby? Received a promotion at work? Announce it on St. Clair Shores Patch. Click on the Announcements tab at the top of the page, then Add an Announcement

4. Send in a News Tip

5. Sign Up for the Daily Newsletter

6. Upload a Photo or Video

Share something interesting you see around St. Clair Shores--whether it's an especially pretty day on Lake St. Clair, your child's first dance recital or homerun or a charity event. Photos and videos can be uploaded to any story as well as to the Community Photo Gallery, which features random photos from around town. 7. Claim Your Business Listing in our Directory

Own a salon, restaurant or retail shop in St. Clair Shores? Claim your business listing in the Patch directory. Click on the Places tab at the top of the home page, search for your business and then click Claim It! If you cannot find your business, please let us know. We'll get your listing added. Once you claim your listing, a free service, you can update photos as often as you'd like, update season hours and more. 

8. Start a Blog

Do you collect antiques? Have a passion for fashion? Love to review movies or books? Sign up to blog on St. Clair Shores Patch. Click on Start a Blog at the top of the homepage and enter your information. Blogging is a fast and fun way to share your interest with your neighbors. 

9. Join the Conversation on Social Media

Get updates throughout the day from St. Clair Shores Patch on Facebook. Like us there and follow us on Twitter. Share your ideas and generate conversation. 

10. Submit a Letter to the Editor

We invite anyone in St. Clair Shores to share their thoughts about what's going on around town. Letters should be no more than 300 words and emailed to Editor Edward Cardenas at edward.cardenas@patch.com.

11. Check Nearby Traffic & Gas Prices

For gas, select the appropriate city and voila, you have up to date gas prices!
