Local Dentists to Host Halloween Candy Buy Back

Local dentists are hosting a pair of Halloween candy buy-back events this week to benefit members of the armed services serving overseas.

Families are invited to bring candy they collected from trick-or-treating, school parties and trunk-or-treat Halloween events to local dentist offices for candy buy back events.

Unopened candy will be purchased by the dentists, then sent to men and women serving overseas.

  • Dr. P. Steven Wainess and his staff will host a Halloween Candy Buy Back from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1. Unopened candy will be purchased by the pound and sent to members of the armed forces through Operation Gratitude. There will also be refreshments, games, prizes and a the opportunity to write a letter to a soldier. Veterans will attend, and historical military vehicles will be on display.
  • Dr. Steven Stricker will hold a candy buy back from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3. This year the event will feature a bounce house, Humvee and a U.S. Army soldier. There will also be donuts, cider, hot dogs, chips, snacks and stations for children to draw pictures to send to the troops.
