Where/When: St. Paul Cemetery, Moross and Country Club Lane, Grosse Pointe; 8 p.m. Sept. 8-11.
Why Go: Spooky, historical fun is in the air! The Grosse Pointe Theatre has brought back its Talking Headstones event, a historical reenactment featuring people and events from the community's past.
Pricing: Cost is $15 and there are discounts available to Grosse Pointe Theatre and Grosse Pointe Historical Society members. Call 313-881-4004 for tickets or more information.

Why Go: Catch a night of classic funk, soul, R&B and Motown classics as Groove Council turns it loose at the Goose this weekend.

GROSSE POINTE'S GREATEST BLOCK PARTY

: The Village, Kercheval and Notre Dame, Grosse Pointe; 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sept. 10 and noon-5 p.m. Sept. 11.
Why Go: Come to the Village for Grosse Pointe's Greatest Block Party, now in its fifth year. Enjoy two days of late-summer fun, with food, refreshments, live music, an art show, car show, pooch parade, sidewalk sales, children's activities, performances by the Grosse Pointe Theatre, and fun for the entire family. The party stretches the three-block shopping area along Kercheval, from Cadieux to Neff.
