Garage and Estate Sale Roundup: Mom-to-Mom Sale at St. Joan of Arc

We're creeping into October, but there are still plenty of yard sales, along with a batch of estate sales, on the calendar.

Autumn has arrived, and while that means garage sale season is winding down, there are still a few good options this weekend. Plus, there are always good estate and mom-to-mom sales happening in the area. 

Check these out for fall foraging.

TOOLS AND MORE

Why Go: Shop this yard sale for Christmas trees and decorations, including village houses and accessories; a baker's rack, twin bed, household goods and more. 

EVERYTHING MUST GO
Where/When: 28505 Grant, St. Clair Shores; 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 29-30 and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Oct. 1. No early birds, please.
Why Go: Shop this huge garage sale for furnishings, pots and pans, utensils, kitchenware, fishing boat with trailer, lamps, books, pictures, linens, sewing machines, television and more.

A WORLDLY COLLECTION
Hartt Estate Sales has a four-day estate sale planned at 22600 Lakecrest, St. Clair Shores. Sale hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sept. 29-Oct. 2.
The contents of the sale include items from a longtime executive of the Fruehauf Corp., with items collected over the years as the family traveled around the world.
Items for sale include vintage and antique furnishings, such as a 19th century oak cabinet with original brass hardware, a Victorian walnut dresser with teardrop handles and an antique Windsor cane side chair; a Seth Thomas mahogany mantel clock, signed Hummel figurines, a Haviland dinner set from Germany, hand-painted tea cups and plates; framed art; appliances; antique photos; glassware and kitchen items; women's clothing and costume jewelry; linens, bedding and towels, and much more.

CABINETS AND COLLECTIBLES ...
Another Estate Sale by R and S has a three-day estate sale, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 2, in St. Clair Shores. The address will be made available after 9 a.m. Sept. 29.

TWO-DAY TREASURE HUNT
Stefek's Estate Sales has a sale planned in Grosse Pointe Farms, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, the address of which will be released after 9 a.m. Sept. 29.
The home is filled with furniture and decor items, including a brown leather sofa, a fruitwood dining table with six chairs, china cabinet, Hitchcock chairs, several mahogany furniture pieces and sets, a Grinnell baby grand piano, silver plate, pottery and glass items, framed artwork, clocks, vintage and modern clothing, Christmas decorations, carpets and rugs, and plenty more.

Why Go: Shop for designer clothes, shoes, belts, purses, scarves, costume jewelry, novelty items, home decor and housewares, too.

Why Go: St. Joan of Arc's Parent-Teacher Guild holds its mom-to-mom sale today. Shop for all kinds of great deals and help the organization at the same time.
Pricing: $2 for early birds, starting at 8:30 a.m., or $1 after 9 a.m. No strollers, please.
