Garage and Estate Sale Roundup: Huge Mansion Sale in Grosse Pointe Farms

A Grand Prix Ferrari race car and a Steinway grand piano are among the items offered at a large mansion estate sale this week. Shop to your heart's content with our handy roundup.

A MANSION OF POSSIBILITIES
Hartt Estate Sales will hold a four-day estate sale at 285 Vincennes Place, Grosse Pointe Farms. Sale hours and dates are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Sept. 8-11.
The belongings of the CEO and founder of an engineering and technology company, housed in an 8,000-square foot mansion, will be sold. Many items were procured in the family's travels overseas, and the contents of two Palm Beach, Fla., mansions and their Clarkston mansion will be sold at this event.
Items for sale include a 2001 BMW 740 IL with 66,000 miles; a full-size Steinway grand piano, never used; Baker Egyptian lion arm chairs; Fran Murphy Swain living room suite; Henredon dining table and chairs, plus china cabinet and marble-top buffet; a seven-piece Lane bedroom suite; numerous sofa sets; office desks and chairs; a large pair of bronze crystal Greek face urns; several crystal chandeliers; a Grand Prix Ferrari 801 F1 gasoline race car; dolls and figurines; large sets of dinnerware, including Limoge, Lenox and Royal Crown Derby; Baccarat crystal and German cut crystal stemware; appliances; Persian floor rugs; antique oil paintings, mantel clocks, prints and more; plus gardening and landscaping equipment. A number of items, including the Lane bedroom suite, are signed.
Those attending the sale will be charged a $3 admission fee, which will go toward Dads of Detroit.

Integrity Estate Sales is planning a three-day sale in Grosse Pointe Woods, address to be released after 9 a.m. Sept. 7. Sale times and dates are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 8, and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 9-10.
Items for sale include furnishings, men's and women's clothing, glassware, kitchenware, tools, firearms, garage items, plus household goods.

Why Go: St. Clare of Montefalco's PTC is holding its 27th annual used book sale. Shop for great bargains and help the organization at the same time. Wednesday's sale is the presale with prices marked up 50 percent, Thursday and Friday are normal sale days, Saturday is half-price day for most items and Sunday is bag day.

Why Go: Shop for great deals at St. Paul's annual rummage sale with everything from clothing to knick-knacks, books to toys and plenty in between. Saturday is half-price day, with added bargains.

Action Estate Sales is organizing a three-day sale in Grosse Pointe Shores, to be held 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sept. 16-18. The address will be released after 9 a.m. Sept. 14.
