Pat O'Brien's Remains a St. Patrick's Day Tradition in St. Clair Shores

Macomb County may be known for the "Blue Economy," but for St. Patrick's Day, businesses go green in celebration of the holiday.

For generations of eastsiders, Pat O'Brien's Tavern has been the only destination for St. Patrick's Day.

The St. Clair Shores bar, located for decades at the corner of 10 Mile and Jefferson, hosts one of the largest parties in the area on Sunday.

Pat O'Brien's opens early March 17 at 7 a.m. with a free Irish breakfast, followed by the 10 a.m. opening of a special tent constructed in the parking lot behind the pub where traditional Irish music will be played. There is a $10 cover fee.
