Procrastinators Rejoice: Shores Stores Ready for Rush

'Twas the night before Christmas when all through the Shores, last minute shoppers were searching the stores; but little did they know that Patch had a guide, to make their gift buying a fast easy ride.

Last minute shoppers can avoid the stress and chaos of the malls and big box stores by staying local for their last minute gifting needs with unique gifts that are sure to please the most discriminating recipient.

For those who want to give the gift of flowers,  on Harper will be open from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. to purchase a poinsettia, centerpiece or hostess gifts.

"People stop here on the way to wherever they are going," said Frank Viviano, owner of the shop that bears his family name. "Our cooler is well stocked with centerpieces starting as low as $20."

Viviano also has a large selection of candles, baby gifts, gourmet foods and teas, photo frames, garden ware, stuffed animals, stocking stuffers and cards.  

He also suggested giving the Viviano Flower of the Month Club, which leaves a lasting impression and continues to give throughout the year.

At located on Harper Avenue, Christmas Eve hours are 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., and select giftware is up to 25% off.

Maloof has a number of keepsakes including fine jewelry, diamonds and watches, Swarovski and Waterford crystal, Madame Alexander dolls, Precious Moments figurines, Hummel and Armani porcelain, Cross pens, grandfather clocks and much more.

For those who can't join the snowbirds in the Florida, consider giving the gift of a tropical glow from on Greater Mack.  The salon has several holiday specials and is open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

"We are offering a special gift bag with the purchase of a gift card," said Total Tan owner Shelly Greenfield. "The gift bag contains $60 worth of products including tanning accelerator, after tan lotion and eyewear."

For those who prefer a "sunless" tan, Total Tan has VersaSpa, the latest sunless tan technology.  The salon also offers teeth whitening, a full line of lotions and swimwear.

"We are last minute shoppers here, and we will help take care of your last minute needs," Greenfield said.

With all of the hustle and bustle of the holidays, a gift of relaxation and tranquility from located on Greater Mack may be the perfect item.  

Terme is open on Christmas Eve from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and carries a variety of gift baskets, body care products, jewelry, spa packages and gift certificates.

"We have beautiful high quality spa wraps for only $39.  They are the same wraps we use here in the spa," said Terme owner Jane Miller.

on Harper is the perfect stop for hard to find toys and collectibles, with a wide assortment of new and used treasures.

All used toys are 50 percent off, new toys and collectibles are 10 percent off and gift certificates are available.

"Kids want toys they see on television, and lots of shows are still on but the characters are no longer sold in stores. We have those toys here," explained Ye Old Toy Shoppe proprietor Cheryl Herrick.

Herrick added that the store has a little bit of everything making it the ideal stop for affordable stocking stuffers and last minute purchases in every price range.  She is always willing to help shoppers who are on a tight budget as well.

"I just want every kid to have a Christmas," said Herrick.
