New Restaurant Proposed for the Nautical Mile

The owner of the Aspen Restaurant in Macomb Township is proposing a new restaurant on Jefferson.

Developers of a proposed family-style restaurant on the received site plan approval Tuesday from Planning Commission.

The proposal has to be voted on by the St. Clair Shores City Council before construction can begin on the 164-seat restaurant on Jefferson near Blackburn.

"Thanks for choosing St. Clair Shores," commissioner Paul Doppke said during the hearing.

If approved by city council, the proposed one-story brick restaurant with nautical accents would be built on a vacant property at 24200 Jefferson by the owner of the in Macomb Township.

A 4,000-square-foot, dry-storage building is also being proposed to be constructed on the eastern edge of the property, off Jefferson.

Developers said the restaurant will be 3,840-square-feet, and will be open 6 a.m. - 2 a.m. They also are not seeking a liquor license.

The site plan may go before St. Clair Shores City Council in August.
