Hollywood Comes to Village Market

Mitch Albom's movie "Have a Little Faith" will be filming Wednesday morning at Village Market.

Shopping carts will be replaced temporarily by movie cameras Wednesday morning at as the store becomes a movie set for the movie Have a Little Faith.

The made-for-television movie is based on the book by author and columnist Mitch Albom, and it will use the store as one of the local sets for the production.

"They will have the entire store for about five hours Wednesday," said Jerry Monterosso, general manager of the store. "It is kind of exciting."

The store will be closed from 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. while the production shoots in the store. In addition to filming in the store, the parking lot for will be used as a staging area, Monterosso stated.

According to Albom's website, the book starts with a request to a rabbi in Albom's hometown to deliver his eulogy. As he prepares for eulogy, Albom also becomes involved with a pastor in Detroit who preaches in a church with a hole in its roof.

The Detroit Free Press reported that the film stars Laurence Fishburne of CSI, Oscar-winner Martin Landau and Bradley Whitford of The West Wing. 

Monterosso did not know if any of the stars will be at the store Wednesday, and he added that he will not be an extra for the movie.

Albom's Facebook page states the movie will air on ABC in late November. 

This is at least the second time this year a movie has filmed in the Shores. In February,  filmed at . The film stars Kristin Chenoweth and Matthew Modine. A release date has not been set for this movie.
