New Restaurant: Frank's on the Avenue Opens in St. Clair Shores

Longtime restaurateur Frank Ivezaj opens his own restaurant on Harper, between 11 and 12 mile roads.

Frank Ivezaj got his start in the restaurant business nearly 30 years ago working at Louie's Ham and Corned Beef restaurant in Detroit.

After working at that restaurant, and others, he decided to open his own restaurant in St. Clair Shores.

The Clinton Township resident welcomed his first customers Monday in the 1,500-square-foot restaurant.

"I used to have a lot of customers from St. Clair Shores and I have a lot of friends from St. Clair Shores," Ivezaj said.

Ivezaj owns the building, which had been vacant for nearly a decade, and demolished nearly half of the structure and remodeled the interior and exterior for the restaurant.

The small restaurant with two tables and an extensive carry-out menu—whic is similar to Louie's— features freshly carved ham, chicken, Greek salad and omelettes.

"I make sure no one leaves hungry," Ivezaj said.
