Buffalo Wild Wings Receives Approval for St. Clair Shores Restaurant

St. Clair Shores City Council approved a site plan for the new Buffalo Wild Wings on Harper, north of 9 Mile. The new restaurant is expected to be completed by early August.

City Council approved the site plan Monday for a new 6,200-square-foot Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant on Harper, north of 9 Mile Road, in St. Clair Shores.

Ground is projected to be broken on the site after the thaw this spring, and should be completed by early August, owner Kent Ward said.

"We are excited to be here in the community," said Ward, who added the corner is perfect for the demographics of the restaurant chain along with the community. "(The area) will probably look better than it has for a while."

The development has been in the works since May, and will be built on the location of the former Shorecrest Lanes just north of Linda's Place.

Ward, who owns 34 other Buffalo Wild Wings including the restaurant in Mount Clemens, said the new St. Clair Shores facility will be built in the traditional style of other Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants. It will have 245 seats inside, and 85 on the outdoor patio on Harper.

"Thanks for coming to St. Clair Shores. We have been waiting for you," said Councilman Ron Frederick.

Developers will also tear down a vacant building north of the proposed restaurant and resurface the 150 space parking lot to the west and north of the new building. A replacement wall will be built along the backyards of the homes on Grove as well as landscaping along Elaine.

Ward previously said there was some interest earlier in the 6,000 square-foot building north of the restaurant, but nothing firm at this point.
