Buffalo Wild Wings Planning Late Summer 2013 Opening

The owner of the new Buffalo Wild Wings on Harper in St. Clair Shores received site plan approval Tuesday from the planning commission for the new restaurant.

The owner of the new Buffalo Wild Wings received site plan approval Tuesday from the St. Clair Shores Planning Commission for a new 6,500-square-foot restaurant on Harper, north of 9 Mile.

The popular sports bar, which was first announced in May, will be built on the location of the former Shorecrest Lanes just north of Linda's Place.

It will be built in the traditional style of other Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants. It will also include an outdoor patio on Harper.

"We have been researching the area for a long time," said Kent Ward, owner of the new Buffalo Wild Wings. "We like this corner."

The site plan will now be considered by City Council and is scheduled to be heard Jan. 21. Ward estimates the restaurant will be completed in July or August.

In addition to constructing a new restaurant, developers will resurface the 184 space parking lot to the west and north of the new building. Improvements, or a replacement, to the current cinder block wall near the residential area will also be considered.

"Thank you for picking St. Clair Shores," said Kathy Hansen, planning commissioner.

Included in the site plan was a proposed 6,000-square-foot retail building on the north end of the property. Ward said there is some intrest, but nothing firm at this point.
