St. Clair Shores Resident a Contestant on "Face Off"

St. Clair Shores resident Daniel Phillips is a contestant in the SyFy-TV show "Face Off" which premiers at 9 p.m. Tuesday.

A make-up artist from is one of 15 contestants this season in the SyFy-TV series "Face Off," which premiers at 9 p.m. Tuesday on the cable channel.

Daniel Phillips, 44, the owner of D.P. Studio, is the local representative in the show. Phillips, who worked at Chrysler for for 14 years, followed his dreams and in 2009 started his own SFX company, according to a release.

Since starting his own company, he has worked on movie including Oz The Great and Powerful and the Hobbit films.

Phillips, and his fellow contestants, will take part in a number of challenges to use their make-up skills create a variety of characters and creatures, according to a release

The winning artist will receive $100,000, a 2014 Fiat and a VIP trip from Kryolan Professional Make-Up to one of their 85 international locations.
