Wigs 4 Kids Honored as a Top Non-Profit

Wigs 4 Kids has received a 2012 Top-Rated Award by GreatNonprofits.org.

The award is based on "the large number of positive reviews that Wigs 4 Kids received from volunteers, donors and clients," according to the charity.

“We are excited to be named a 2012 Top-Rated  Nonprofit,” says Maggie Varney, Founder & CEO of Wigs 4 Kids, in a release. “We are proud of our accomplishments this year, and the demand for our services continues to grow, as we now service four times the amount of children than we have in previous years.”

Being designated on the Top-Rated List allows $1 donated in December will be doubled by a sponsor up to $10,0000. We have until December 31st to reach our goal.

Wigs 4 Kids provides wigs and support services to Michigan children experiencing hair loss as a result of illness and treatment. The program is available to any child or teen between the ages of 3 through 18 at no cost to them or their families.

"We are gratified by Wigs 4 Kids for its work,” said Perla Ni, CEO of GreatNonprofits, in a release. "They deserve to be discovered by more donors and volunteers who are looking for a great nonprofit to support."

The reviews included one person who wrote, “My 14 year old daughter was diagnosed with cancer this year and it completely turned our life upside down. Throughout this terrible diagnosis and treatment we have been blessed with amazing things to help us get through this time. Wigs 4 Kids is one of those blessings! Hair is so important to our children's self esteem and socialization.”
