The Shorewood Kiwanis Club of Michigan and thewill host Hot Rods & Hot Cakes from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Sunday.
The event features an all-you-can eat pancake breakfast and classic car show, located at the VFW Bruce Post 1146 to benefit homeless war veterans in Michigan.
The proceeds from this event will benefit the Southeastern Michigan Veteran’s Stand Down, an organization who assists homeless veterans by bringing them together with service providers. Their goal is to find places to live, job training and employment for our most challenged combat heroes.
“This is our second such event to benefit those who served our country so selflessly,” said Event Coordinator and Car Show Producer Randy Pullin of Shorewood Kiwanis in a release. “In October 2011, Shorewood and the VFW Bruce Post co-hosted our first Hot Rods & Hot Cakes to generate funds for the WWII Veterans’ Memorial and for a local homeless veteran’s shelter.
"In light of our first successful event, we decided to try it again, this time donating all the proceeds to local veterans who need a “hand up”, not a “hand out.”
