Carnival rides, Vegas tent and a kids "Got Talent" event are among the activities planned for this weekend's St. Isaac Jogues SummerFest Festival.
The festival hosted by St. Isaac Jogues, along with their cluster-parish partners at St. Angela Merici in Roseville, replaced the previous Oktoberfest.
“The new format of our festival will appeal to kids of all ages,” said SummerFest Chairperson Andrea Barr, said in a release. “We are a family-centered community and this event is definitely family-focused.”
Among the events planned for weekend include:
Carnival rides
- Friday 4 -10 p.m.
- Saturday noon - 10 p.m.
- Sunday 12:30 - 6:00pm.
Also on-site will be a food court with local restaurants including:
- Copper Penny
- Detroit Style Pizza Co.
- Little Z’s BBQ

- Beer tent
- Mushball tournament Saturday
- Bingo and Vegas-style gaming in the gymnasium including a poker tournament at 4 p.m.
- Children 6- to 18-years-old can take part in St. Isaac Jogues' “Got Talent?” competition at noon Saturday. Registration is required for the competition with more information can be found at sijsummerfest.com.
“I am very happy to be a part of St. Isaac Jogues and St. Angela and am looking forward to meeting many more parishioners and the community members at SummerFest,” Fr. Darrell Roman said in a release. “Family-friendly events like this are a great way to grow as a parish family.”
