Five things to get your day started in St. Clair Shores

Here are a few items to help get your day started.

1. Be careful if you are driving early this morning. The National Weather Service is forecasting widespread dense fog before 8 a.m. Once the fog burns off, it will be mostly sunny with a high near 71. There will be north winds at 5 miles per hour. 

2. This week's city rivalry game between and has the possibility of being the game of the week for two television stations. Viewers can vote on the websites of WDIV and WXYZ to make gridiron battle the game of the week.

3. The Macomb County Health Department is now offering the for three different viruses: H3N2 virus, influenza B virus and the H1N1 virus. The vaccines are available at locations in , Mount Clemens and Warren.

4. Storytime returns to the this Tuesday, with three weekly sessions for various ages. Toddler storytime is held at 10 a.m., for ages 24-42 months, accompanied by an adult. Preschool storytime is held at 1:30 p.m., for independent listeners, ages 3-1/2 to 5 years. Family storytime is held at 7 p.m., for preschoolers, siblings and parents. Storytimes are held weekly on Tuesdays through Nov. 15, with no sessions on Oct. 11.

5. Christmas may still be more than three months away, but retailers are already getting in the spirit of the shopping season. Toys R Us has released their hot toy list. Hit the stores early to get the best selection.
