1. Don't forget the umbrella today. The National Weather Service is forecasting a 100 percent chance of precipitation with a high near 58 and an east, northeast wind between 18 and 22 miles per hour with gusts as high 28 miles per hour.

3. Published and acclaimed poet (and St. Clair Shores native) M.L. Liebler will conduct a poetry workshop at 7 p.m. today in the . The sessions are open to everyone age 15 and up. Please pre-register by e-mailing Liebler at MLLiebler@aol.com or calling him at 313-577-7713.

The American Red Cross is asking anyone who is eligible to donate blood or platelets to do so as soon as possible, warning that local supplies are currently insufficient to meet the needs of our community’s hospitals in a timely manner.
