Here are a few items to get your Thursday started.

1. The National Weather Service is forecasting a 30 percent chance of showers, after 2 p.m. with cloudy skies and a high near 67.

3. The friends of the St. Clair Shores Public Library fall book sale continues today from 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Oct. 14 and 15 the hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

5. This week is Fire Prevention Week. Today's fire safety tip from the National Fire Protection Association is pull together everyone in your household and make a plan. Walk through your home and inspect all possible ways out. Households with children should consider drawing a floor plan of your home, marking two ways out of each room, including windows and doors.
