Five things to get your day, and week, started.

Here are a few items to get your week started.

1. The National Weather Service is calling for a 20 percent chance of showers with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 44. There will be a north, northeast wind around 9 miles per hour.

2. Today is the final day to register for theParks & Recreation 2011-2012 freshmen and junior varsity teams. Children in third and fourth grades can play on the freshman teams, and fifth and sixth for the junior varsity teams. The registration fee is $65, which includes a team shirt and team photo. 3. The Lake Shore Board of Education will meet at 7:30 p.m. tonight in the 28850 Harper. Items to be considered include the approval of the 2012 summer tax levy and approval of the vehicle replacement schedule.

4. City and county offices will reopen today after the Thanksgiving holiday. Trash collection will also resume its regular schedule.

5. Brownie's on the Lake Commodore Club will hold a meet the candidate night at 7 p.m. tonight for the 2012 Commodore position. The candidates include Ed Bolsenthal, Chris Harris and Steven McCaffrey (Mac), for the position.
