Here are a few items to get your Wednesday started.

1. The National Weather Service is forecasting mostly sunny skies with a high near 65 and winds from the south, southwest between 8 and 14 miles per hour.

2. Staff members from the office of U.S. Rep. Sander Levin (D-MI) will be hosting at 5 p.m. today in the . Members of Levin's staff will be available to assist residents who may be having difficulty with a federal agency, including Social Security, Medicare, Veterans, passports and foreclosure issues.

3. Dr. Carl Papa in Roseville will beHalloween candy from 4 - 7 p.m. today. Unopened candy purchased will be sent to troops serving overseas.

4. The St. Clair Shores Public Library will be hosting a pair of reading activities for children. 1st Stop for TOTS, at 10 a.m. today, provides children up to four-years-old can participate in rhymes, songs and stories. TOT Time follows at 10:30 a.m., and is a free drop-in program for children up to five-years-old. Parents and children can choose a book to read together, play with toys and puzzles or enjoy visiting with other children and adults.
