Here are a few items to get your Thursday started.

1. The National Weather Service is calling for a a chance of flurries with a high near 40. There will also be a west wind between 9 and 17 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 25 miles per hour.

2. Construction alert: the Michigan Department of Transportation will close the right lane of westbound I-94 at Frazho Rd from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. today for sign work.

3. Ardmore Park Place will be holding a holiday open house at 6 p.m. today at stroes including Ardmore Gourmet & Gifts, , Fashion Boutique and .

4. Brownie's on the Lake is holding a "" at 7 p.m. today. Cost is $30. Attendees will learn which wines pair best with traditional holiday foods, with the help of Brownie's tasting team who'll offer samples of eight vintages perfect for the season.

5. Deer widows will have a chance to get out and have some fun while the hunters are in wild. The is hosting a Deer Widows' Night. For $15 at the door, deer widows can enjoy appetizers, desserts and much more while listening to tunes played by DJ Matt. At 10 p.m. there will be a drawing for a Coach purse.
