Shores Day Planner: July 20

Five things to get your day started in St. Clair Shores.

Here are a few items to help you start your week:

1. It will be another hot day in the Shores with temperatures above 90 again today according to the National Weather Service. There will be patchy fog before 9 a.m., then mostly sunny, with a high near 93. There will be a slight wind out of the south, southwest wind between 5 and 10 miles per hour.

2. The temperatures may be high, but the winds will low on Lake St. Clair. The National Weather Service is forecasting variable winds 10 knots or less, before shifting to to the south 5 to 10 knots. During the day the winds will increase to 10 to 15 knots with waves around 1 foot.

3. Hot temperatures and hot tunes will be on tap tonight at Veterans Memorial Park. Rhythm Society Orchestra & The Satin Dolls, a vintage swing band, will be on stage at 7:30 p.m. at .

4. Camp sites are still available for the annual St. Clair Shores Movie Campout and Pancake Breakfast at . The overnight event begins at 1 p.m. July 2 with face painting, s'mores, magic, clowns and other events. Pack your own dinner and snacks, caged and covered fire pits will be permitted. Then at 9 p.m. it's showtime with a showing of Tangled. The next morning there will be a pancake breakfast at 8 a.m. There is a $25 cost per family of four, $5 for each additional member, and it's only $3 if you're only there to see the movie. 5. Shoppers will be without their favorite store for a few hours this morning as is a set for the new Mitch Albom movie "Have a Little Faith." From 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. movie crews will use the store for a movie scene.
