Here are a few items to help you get into the work week.

1. It is going to be a hot one today according to the National Weather Service. Find a cool spot because the forecast is calling for partly sunny skies and a high near 90.

2. If you are heading out on the water to cool down, the National Weather Service is forecasting southwest winds 5 to 10 knots, increasing to 10 to 15 knots with partly sunny skies. Watch the skies because the National Weather Service is calling for a chance of showers and thunderstorms.

3. has a couple of options to cool down during this summer heatwave. The pool is open from noon - 8 p.m., and the splash zone in will be open form 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.

4. The Macomb Chamber Music Society, and Shorewood Kiwanis, present a classical music concert at 7 p.m. tonight in Wahby Park.

5. The Kroger store on Harper in Harper Woods will be open today. The store was struck by a semi Saturday night after it was involved in an accident on eastbound I-94. Patch will be checking with the Michigan State Police to get an update on the crash investigation.
