Five things to get your day started in St. Clair Shores.

Here are a few items to help your day started.

1. The National Weather Service is calling for scattered showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. The sun will come out later in the day, with a high near 88. It will also be breezy, with a south-southwest wind between 14 and 20 miles per hour. Gusts will be as high as 32 miles per hour.

2. The winds on Lake St. Clair may be strong today, as the National Weather Service is forecasting south winds 15 to 20 knots before turning to the southwest, with gusts to 30 knots. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast during the afternoon with waves 1 to 2 feet.

3. is holding a spaghetti dinner and silent auction for Tom Kause, who has a rare and aggressive form of cancer, Sclersoing pseudovascular rhabdomyosarcoma. Kause is the husband of parishioner Theresa Knight, who has been a member of St. Joan's Folk Group for more than 30 years. The event will be held tonight at . 

4. The MHSAA has posted football schedules on its website for Lakeview, Lake Shore and South Lake. The season kicks off Thursday for all three teams.
