Shores Day Planner: August 10

Five things to get your day started in St. Clair Shores including a benefit concert and a fishing derby for special needs children.

Here are a few items to help your day started. 

1. It has been some time since we have seen a high temperature under 80, and today will be that day according to the National Weather Service. There is a forecast high of 74 today with partly sunny skies and a northwest wind between 13 and 18 miles per hour.

2. Boaters will find choppy water on Lake St. Clair today with west winds 15 to 20 knots and gusts to 25 knots. The National Weather Service is forecasting waves 1 to 2 feet in height.

3. Devin Scillian and his band, Arizona Son, will take the stage tonight at 7:30 p.m. for the final free summer at . The Lac Ste Claire Kiwanis will also collecting donations of money, non-perishable food, clothing and school items for the Military Family Relief Fund for families at Selfridge Air National Guard Base. 

4. Volunteers will give special needs kids a special day on the water today for the annual Fishing Derby for Handicapped Kids at Marina. Patch will be there to cover the event.
