Power Outage Affects Southeastern St. Clair Shores

About 1,200 DTE Energy customers lost power Tuesday.

About 1,200 DTE Energy customers in southern St. Clair Shores, and northern Grosse Pointe Woods, lost power Tuesday.

The power outage knocked out traffic signals on Vernier, but were operational by mid-afternoon.

Patch readers stated the power was restored about 1 p.m., but was lost again nearly an hour later.

The affected area in St. Clair Shores includes an area north of Old Eight Mile, east of Mack and west of Marter.

Staff at Mason Elementary School in Grosse Pointe Woods  worked to make students "as comfortable as possible" by taking students outside for reading and activities in the shady areas of the school property.

Although it was an inconvenience to some, Andiamo Trattoria informed email subscribers that "We Have Electricity and a 4 Course Menu for $20 at Trattoria."
