Patch's Picks: Top Sports Spots in St. Clair Shores

Patch puts together a list of places to watch the Red Wings quest for the Stanley Cup and the new season for the Detroit Tigers.

With the hockey playoffs starting Wednesday, and the Detroit Tigers season under way, Patch decided to see what specials the local bars were offering for sports fans in St. Clair Shores.

1.) 23401 Harper Ave., offers specials for both teams. When the Red Wings are playing, patrons can order 20 hot wings and a mason jar of domestic beer for $7, 10 hot wings and a domestic pint for $4 or five hot wings for $2, with an extra 50-cent charge for side sauces. They also offer drink specials in addition to the hot wings specials. Every time the Red Wings score, patrons can get $1 domestic beers. If you're looking to catch a Tigers game, they have specials for that too. You can get two hot dogs, a bag of chips, cracker jacks and a domestic pint for $5, two Coney dogs (with onions, mustard and chili), a bag of chips, Cracker Jacks and a domestic pint for $6. Just like during Red Wings games, every time a Tiger scores, domestic pints are $1.

2.) , located inside Harbor Lanes at 25419 Jefferson, offers game day specials on Saturdays and Sundays. Stop in between noon and 6 p.m. and you can get a bucket of domestic beers (five per bucket) for $11, or a bucket of premium beers (five per bucket) for $12. Cheese and pepperoni pizzas are also half off during this time. There are also a variety of specials during the week, like Cool Mondays which offers $2 frozen drinks and appetizer specials and Burger Tuesdays, where you can grab a burger and a beer for $5.95.

3.) Stop by the and watch the game on one of their 11 flat screen televisions. Wednesdays are dubbed Whacky Wednesdays and hot wings are 40 cents a wing and bottles of Landshark beer are $2. They also have an extensive menu featuring wings, nachos, pizza and burgers, just to name a few items. They are sure to have something for every sports fan in your group.

4.) If you want to watch the game but don't want the typical sports bar atmosphere, check out. This restaurant has an extensive menu that features burgers and fries, pizzas, sandwiches and much, much more. They have plenty of HDTVs so you will be sure to catch a game or two. They also have an extensive beer menu featuring domestic and imported beers. Check their website, www.gilbertslodge.com, where they update their specials daily.

5.) There's always a special running at , ball game or not. Happy hour runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., domestic bottles are $2 and you get $1 off well drinks. There are different food and drink specials throughout the week and Pabst Blue Ribbon bottles are $1 all day, every day. There's sure to be a sports game on while the specials are running, and with TV's surrounding the bar, you'll be sure to catch it.
