Patch's Picks: St. Patty's Day Celebrations

Patch talks to a few local bars and finds out what they have to offer Shorians.

Looking for somewhere to go to celebrate St. Patrick's Day? We talked to a few local bars to see what specials they were offering and found out what they'll be doing to stand out from the others.

1.) boasts the largest St. Patty's Day celebration in the area. Tents are up, covering the parking lot, and doors will open at 7 a.m. In addition to drink specials, they will have home-style Irish food like corn beef hash. Entertainment will be provided all day long by bands and a DJ on the patio. WRIF0-FM will be broadcasting live from the bar from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

2.)  opens its doors at 9 a.m. and is offering a free breakfast buffet until 11 a.m. Aside from plenty of green beer, they will be offering their usual beer specials, $2 bottles of beer and $1 dollar drafts until 7 p.m. There are plenty of televisions, pool tables and a dance floor to help pass the time.

3.) is starting their party at noon. Those coming for the food can get a corned beef dinner for $3. They are offering $2 domestics and $1 green beers from noon to 9 p.m. as well as $5 Irish car bombs. The DJ starts at 9 p.m.

4.) is offering a variety of Irish dishes. Choose from their corned beef cabbage dinner, Ruben sandwiches and Irish stew with lamb. The all day celebration starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 2 a.m. Bag pipers will be stopping by later in the evening to entertain party goers.

5.) is offering a slightly different St. Patty's Day experience. They will have food all day and green beer, of course, but the John Rhodes Band will keep the party going into the evening with some Blues music. Doors open at 10 a.m. and the band takes the stage at 8 p.m.
