Optimist Club Champions Banquet, Civic Carnival and Green Events Coming up This Week

A number of events are planned this week in St. Clair Shores including:

• Optimist's Champions Banquet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Blossom Heath Inn.
• Civic Arena carnival runs Thursday - Sunday.
• The Lakeside Palette Club of St. Clair Shores will present its 66th spring art exhibit and sale at the Chip Shotz at the St. Clair Shores Country Club through May 31.
• The Yardners Annual Native Plant Sale Friday and Saturday at the Selinsky-Green Farmhouse Museum behind the St. Clair Shores Library.
• St. Joan of Arc Green Team is hosting an electronic recycling event from 10 a.m - 2 p.m. Saturday. A $5 donation is requested per carload.
• Lakeview High School Drive One for Your School fundraiser at 10 a.m. at the high school
• The VFW Bruce Post is hosting an "Entertainment Extravaganza" with Marvin Gaye, Donna Summer, Barbra Striesand and Neil Diamond tribute artists at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 at the door.
