St. Clair Shores city officials will join with businessman and philanthropist Fred Maloof Friday to open the new Maloof Family Pavilion in Veterans Memorial Park.

Maloof donated the $248,326 to build a 40 by 60 foot pavilion in the park, and directly west of the current band shell. The covered pavilion will accommodate 30 picnic tables and will feature a 12-foot illuminated archway to the "Maloof Family Pavilion."

The ceremony at noon, Friday Oct. 12, will be open to the public, according to city manager Ben Hughes, and will be catered by National Coney Island.
